Sundays

Sundays are the best. I love having nothing to do, and nowhere to go (besides church), and just RELAXING. I have a ton of books on my shelf that still need to be read before I go buy any more, so I might do a little of that, and I have so many ideas floating around in my head that need to be written! Songs, books, ideas...I just feel full of inspiration lately. It's the best feeling.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL day and take some time to rest and think about GOD and what He's done for you and His amazing love for you!! He loves you more than anything! I pray that He would shower you with His love today. His love is so precious and cannot be compared to any other love you will ever experience on this earth. For those of you who are lonely, GOD says "I am with you and I will save you" (Jeremiah 30:11) ~ Let HIM come to your rescue today!!  Love you all!!  ~ Katie

Best Lotion of the Winter Award Goes To...

So the weather has been pretty cold lately…and with that, comes dry skin for many. Over the last several months I’ve tried out many different products, from Sephora and Victoria’s Secret, to Wal-Mart and Walgreens. After trying on all of these soothing potions, I found the very best moisturizing lotion of all! Do you want to know what it is? Drumroll please…
JASON lotions, which are pure, natural and organic. Not only are they amazingly wonderful and hydrating to your skin, and actually work, they are also healthy for you. These lotions are paraben free and doesn’t contain the harsh chemicals many other lotions do.
I got the “Vanilla and Coconut Milk Deeply Hydrate”…and its already empty cause I used it so much! I’m going back to Walgreens to get another. They are about $7 each, which is a little pricier than Wal-Mart lotions, but worth every penny because you aren’t poisoning yourself with harsh chemicals!! I just read somewhere that putting something on your skin is the same as eating it. You are rubbing whatever is in that lotion into your skin and it does have an affect on you believe it or not.
This lotion was even better than several expensive lotions I bought from a store I won’t mention…. Just know that a higher price doesn’t always mean you are getting a better product.
I think it’s important to support organic products. So far I’ve seen JASON products at Whole Foods, Walgreens and Kriegers. I highly recommend this!
Well…bye for now, I need to go get another bottle of this!

Beauty and "The Beast"

In today’s world, women young and old are BOMBARDED with false, unrealistic images of beauty that are unattainable. My heart goes out to every girl with insecurities. I don’t know of one who doesn’t have them. I think it is one thing that we all have in common - the fact that there is that one thing (or more) that we don’t like about ourselves.
I remember an episode of Oprah where they portrayed women from all over the world and what their definition of beauty was. For those in Japan it was porcelain, pure, white skin. They actually drink collagen to try to stay young and beautiful! There was another country where curves were the most desirable in women. I forget where it was, but they actually start feeding their young girls non-stop until they throw up, and then they feed them more so that they will get fatter and fatter.
At the end of the show they concluded that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to have to go through dangerous rituals to “become beautiful“. I don’t want to fry my skin out under a tanning bed, starve myself for the perfect figure, or do anything else that will harm my body. For what? I believe all women are beautiful as God created them and they can shine with what they’ve got. You don’t need plastic surgery to be beautiful. Work with what you’ve got! This year I’m praying that I will be more thankful and confident in the exact way that God created me, instead of thinking of all of the things I would like to alter.
The Bible says that you are a poem written by God. You hold unique value and beauty within yourself. Nothing is wrong with trying to improve your appearance, but there are healthy ways to do it. Eating a healthy, balanced diet a diet and working out are two of the greatest beauty remedies! Get your heart pumping and liven up your body with “living foods” and it will shine through! Beauty is in the eye of the Beholder - God! And He says YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL!!! Look into the Bible, it is a mirror and will tell you who you are and what God’s thoughts are about you. This will shape you into the confident woman that He created you to be!
“You made all of the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous.” ~ Psalm 139:13-14
Open the WORD to find your TRUE BEAUTY!!!
